Utilities & Grid AI Stocks
Utilities and grid AI stocks are regulated utilities serving data-center demand, transmission and distribution operators, grid equipment makers, and the electrical contractors physically wiring the buildout. Data centers connect through the grid, so utilities in data-center corridors and the companies expanding grid capacity collect AI spending as rate-base growth and equipment orders.

Frequently asked questions
How do regulated utilities benefit from AI data centers?
A data center is one of the largest electricity customers a utility can add, and serving it requires new transmission, substations, and generation that regulators allow the utility to earn a return on. Utilities in data-center-heavy regions have raised their capital plans and load forecasts on the back of that demand.
What grid equipment does the AI buildout need?
Transformers, switchgear, high-voltage cable, and substation equipment, most of it in multi-year backlog. Every new campus needs grid interconnection, and the electrical contractors and equipment makers who supply it are paid during construction, well before the data center produces anything.
New to the framework? The Start Here guide walks the whole buildout layer by layer, including where Utilities & Grid fits.
