AI Investing Glossary
What is an AI pure play stock?
An AI pure play is a company whose business exists because of AI demand: if AI spending stopped, the business would stop with it. Pure plays offer the most direct exposure to the buildout and the most concentrated risk, unlike diversified companies where AI is one driver among several.
Why it matters for AI investors
Purity is a spectrum, not a badge, which is why every stock here carries a 0-100 AI Exposure Score instead of a yes/no label. Pure plays amplify both directions of the AI trade; the leaderboard ranks the whole universe so the concentration choice is explicit rather than accidental.
Frequently asked questions
Are AI pure plays better investments than diversified AI stocks?
Neither is inherently better; they are different exposures. Pure plays move hardest with AI demand in both directions, while diversified names damp the AI signal with other businesses. Which suits a given portfolio depends on conviction and risk tolerance, a personal decision the data can inform but not make.
