AI Applications AI Stocks
AI application stocks are the software products with AI at the core of what the user touches: the application layer of the stack. Instead of selling compute or platforms, they sell finished capability, and their bet is that AI-native products can take markets from incumbents or create categories that did not exist.

Frequently asked questions
How can you tell an AI application from AI-washing?
Ask what the customer is buying. In a genuine AI application, the core function the user pays for is powered by AI, and removing it would gut the product. In AI-washing, AI is a feature bolted onto an existing product and mentioned heavily on earnings calls. The universe's inclusion bar screens for the former.
Do AI applications benefit from the infrastructure buildout?
Indirectly. Falling compute costs and better models widen what applications can profitably offer, but application companies also pay for inference, so their margins depend on model pricing set upstream. They are a bet on AI adoption and distribution rather than on construction spending.
New to the framework? The Start Here guide walks the whole buildout layer by layer, including where AI Applications fits.
